Are winter rains invading your home?  Need a new roof, doors or windows?  Electrical wiring got you frazzled?  Plumbing got you clogged?  If so, USDA Rural Development has the funds available to help for all this and more.  Start the year off with up to a $20,000 Single Family Housing Repair Loan with a 1 percent fixed interest rate and maximum repayment period of 20 years.

“This program answers the call for the underserved need of access to affordable home repair improvements for people in rural communities,” said Chris Kanazawa, USDA Rural Development State Director for Hawaii and the Western Pacific.  “It provides an opportunity to address these vital home rehabilitations through the USDA Rural Development Home Repair Program.”

These loans, used to finance essential home improvements, are available to very low-income single family homeowners who lack the personal resources to pay for needed repairs.  The program, also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, provides loans to homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes in eligible rural communities.

This program is available throughout Hawaii, American Samoa and the Western Pacific region.  Contact local representatives to apply or for more information.
