Residential Mortgage Services (RMS) received the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) New Hampshire 2015 Guaranteed Lender of the Year Award in recognition of the bank’s dedication to rural home buyers. USDA officials presented the award at the Goffstown residence of Karl Kammann and Elana Perez who purchased their home last fall through RMS using the USDA’s Guaranteed Home Loan Program.
“The most effective way to ensure that young, working, Granite Staters can call rural New Hampshire home is to provide them with an accessible and affordable avenue towards homeownership,” said USDA New Hampshire Area Director Beverly Mason. “The USDA’s Guaranteed Home Loan Program removes financial obstacles that stand in the way of ownership, however, the program’s efficacy depends on strong partners such as RMS whose local presence makes them an invaluable asset to the program, the homebuyers they work with, and to rural communities across the state.”
This past October, Mr. Kammann and Ms. Perez purchased their Goffstown home. Kammann manages a local tire wholesale warehouse while Perez is a medical assistant. The couple worked with RMS to obtain a mortgage guaranteed by the USDA to purchase their first home.
In 2015, the USDA’s Guaranteed Home Loan Program helped over 800 Granite State households, like that of Kammann and Perez, achieve the dream of home ownership. The USDA program assists approved lenders in providing low and moderate-income households the opportunity to own decent, safe and affordable homes. RMS has been a valuable partner of USDA Rural Development in New Hampshire loaning out over $26 million to help 146 families purchase homes through the USDA program. Because of the numbers of households served and the positive feedback from customers like Kammann and Perez, RMS earned the USDA’s Guaranteed Lender of the Year award.
Speaking on RMS’s relationship with USDA Rural Development at the award ceremony, bank representative John Gaglia said, “RMS is a proud supporter of the USDA’s Guaranteed Home Loan Program and is pleased to partner with the USDA to help meet New Hampshire’s housing needs.”
