Trump administration invests over $536,000 in Christian County businesses

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kentucky State Director Hilda Legg today announced the Trump administration is investing $536,549 in Christian County, Kentucky.

“Small businesses have been hit especially hard over the last seven months. The Trump administration’s investment in small businesses leads to job growth and a stronger economy across rural Kentucky,” said Legg. “Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA Rural Development continues to be a valuable partner in helping rural businesses and communities across the commonwealth.”

Christian County/Hopkinsville Development Corporation will use a $50,000 Rural Business Development Grant to help the YMCA make building improvements and expand services in order to better serve the community.

Carl Bullard & Son Inc. will use a $20,000 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of three solar systems encompassing a 40 kW system. This project will generate and replace over 56,800 kWh of energy per year.

Cayce Mill Supply will use a $49,975 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 100 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 143,500 kWh of energy per year.

Bypass Warehouse LLC will use a $49,975 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 150 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 215,250 kWh of energy per year.

Tom & Tony Folz Farms will use a $10,550 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 22.42 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace almost 32,000 kWh of energy per year.

William and Lynn Garnett Farms will use a $49,975 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 105.3 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 145,000 kWh of energy per year.

Phillip and Marsha Garnett Farms will use a $20,000 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 50 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 69,000 kWh of energy per year.

Isom Brothers will use a $82,310 Rural Energy for America Program grant to install a more energy efficient grain drying system. This project will realize over $31,383 per year in savings.

David Brame will use a $47,660 Rural Energy for America Program grant to install a high efficiency grain dryer. This project will realize over $24,250 per year in savings.

Bolinger Family Farms will use a $68,629 Rural Energy for America Program grant to install a more energy efficient grain drying system. This project will realize over $11,050 per year in savings.

Means & Fort Electric Inc. will use a $37,500 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 75 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 109,000 kWh of energy per year.

Calhoun Properties LLC will use a $49,975 Rural Energy for America Program grant for the purchase and installation of a 100 kW solar system. This project will generate and replace over 143,500 kWh of energy per year.

The Rural Business Development Program provides grant money to assist with economic development planning and/or the financing or expansion of rural businesses.

The Rural Energy for America Program provides funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements. This program helps businesses improve their bottom line by lowering the cost of energy over time. The program also helps increase American energy independence by increasing the private sector supply of renewable energy and decreasing the demand for energy through energy efficiency improvements.

USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
