USDA Rural Development has awarded $101,600 to the Village of Barneston to replace a temporary repair to the water transmission under the No Name Creek.

“USDA funds will be used to make a permanent water transmission line.  The No Name Creek was washed out during the May heavy rains this year.  The damage to the transmission line caused the Village to be without water for several days,” said Community Programs Specialist Janice Stopak, USDA Rural Development.

USDA Rural Development funding is being provided through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.  For more information visit www.rd.usda.gov/ne or contact Community Programs Specialist Janice Stopak at 402-437-5743 or Janice.stopak@ne.usda.gov.
