Water System Upgrades Coming to Polk With Funding from USDA Rural Development

USDA Rural Development announces its funding of $1.6 million to the Village of Polk to upgrade the village’s water system.

“The water system upgrades will include a new water tower, installation of water meters, and replacement of distribution lines throughout Polk,” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist, Janice Stopak.

The project was funded through the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program.  Visit:  http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/water-waste-disposal-loan-grant-program/ne.  The loan was for $1,095,000 for 40 years at 1.75 percent rate of interest.  Grant funds of $516,000 were also utilized.
