Following the announcement of the second round of ReConnect Pilot Program funding in 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development will offer the first in a series of ReConnect Program technical assistance workshops in Seattle, Washington, on January 29-30, 2020.

Those interested in applying for ReConnect Program funding to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas that currently lack sufficient internet access are invited to attend.

          Dates: January 29-30, 2020
          Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport

The two-day workshop will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport. It will provide attendees with an understanding of the program and application requirements. Topics will include:

  • Program overview
  • Application evaluation criteria
  • Application system overview and troubleshooting options
  • Financial, network, environmental, and mapping requirements
  • Compliance

Registration is now open. Please join Rural Development Washington State Director Kirk Pearson, local USDA Telecommunications General Field Representatives, and broadband subject matter experts for this event.

About the ReConnect Program

The ReConnect Program offers loans, grants, and loan/grant combinations to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas that currently lack sufficient internet access.

The application window for the second round of $550 million in funding will open on January 31, 2020, and close on March 16, 2020.
