The Trump Administration recently appointed Douglas Wilson as the new State Director for USDA Rural Development in Illinois. Mr. Wilson began his new role on Monday, Nov. 13.

Mr. Wilson is a 3rd generation farmer, lifelong resident of rural Illinois, and past Illinois State Director for Rural Development.  He has served in leadership roles in a variety of agricultural, community, and not-for-profit organizations.

“It is an honor to be selected by the President to fill the extremely important role of State Director of Rural Development in Illinois,” Mr. Wilson said.  “I look forward to working with the President, Secretary of Agriculture, and the Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development to increase rural prosperity and enhance customer service through innovation and partnerships in our state.”

As State Director, Mr. Wilson will use his leadership experience to oversee Rural Development programs in a customer-focused manner to restore prosperity in rural Illinois.
