Janna Lowery
Acting State Director for West Virginia
Janna Lowery is originally from Welch in McDowell County, WV. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University.
She began her career with USDA-Rural Development in 1994 and held the position of Community Programs Specialist in the West Virginia State Office for over 15 years, working in the water and wastewater utility programs. She then served as the Director of Community Programs for West Virginia, a position she held from January 2011 to August 2024. She now serves as the Director of Program Support, which encompasses oversight of the engineering and environmental staff, as well as loan servicing and compliance activities.
Janna resides in Morgantown with her husband, Steve, and they have two adult children, Drew, 24, who is also a WVU graduate and Julia, 20, who is currently a junior at WVU. They are all avid Mountaineer fans and enjoy attending West Virginia University sporting events along with their extended family, particularly home football and basketball games.
