State Director of Mississippi
John Rounsaville serves as the State Director for USDA Rural Development in Mississippi, bringing nearly 20 years of public and private sector experience to the Department. Rounsaville previously served in this position in the Administration of President George W. Bush.
Prior to serving this Administration, Rounsaville worked as vice president of a civil engineering firm where he developed public infrastructure and economic development projects throughout the Southeast. His experience includes serving as Policy Advisor to former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and Legislative Director to former Mississippi Congressman Chip Pickering in Washington, DC.
Rounsaville was awarded BS and MS degrees from Mississippi State University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi. He also serves as an officer in the Mississippi Air National Guard and is a Judge Advocate for the 186th Air Refueling Wing based in Meridian, Mississippi.
As State Director, Rounsaville will apply his leadership skills and experience to promote Rural Development programs to enhance prosperity and quality of life for Mississippians.
