State Director of Mississippi
John Rounsaville serves as State Director for USDA Rural Development in Mississippi, bringing nearly 20 years of public and private sector experience to the Agency. Rounsaville previously served as State Director in the Administration of President George W. Bush.
Prior to serving the Trump Administration, Rounsaville worked as vice president of a civil engineering firm where he developed public infrastructure and economic development projects throughout the Southeast. His experience additionally includes serving as Policy Advisor to former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour in Jackson, MS, and Legislative Director to former Mississippi Congressman Chip Pickering in Washington, DC.
Rounsaville received a degree in Agribusiness and a Master of Science degree in Agribusiness Management from Mississippi State University. He earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law and is a member of the Mississippi Bar. Rounsaville is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s School and currently serves in the Air National Guard as a Judge Advocate assigned to the 186th Air Refueling Wing in Meridian, Mississippi.
