A fifth-generation farmer and rancher, Troy brings a lifetime of agricultural expertise and rural development leadership to his role. A native of Iowa, Louisiana, and an alumnus of Welsh High School and he attended Louisiana State University, his deep roots in the state’s soil are matched by a proven track record of entrepreneurship and public service.
Troy founded and operated Sports Turf Specialist, a company dedicated to the installation of high-quality athletic turf. He began his public service with his election to the Police Jury in Jefferson Davis Parish. Troy was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 2019. During his six-year tenure in the House, Troy served as Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development, where he became a key architect of the state’s agricultural policy.
Troy is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between Louisiana’s rural communities and federal resources. He is dedicated to leveraging USDA programs to drive statewide economic growth and looks forward to collaborating with federal partners to ensure a prosperous future for all Louisianians. Troy is a devoted husband and the proud father of seven children and 11 grandchildren.
