Rural Development COVID-19 Information for Homeowners

The Rural Development Office of Single Family Housing has taken a number of steps to help rural homeowners who have been impacted by COVID-19, including the following:

  • Temporarily postponing foreclosures in the Guaranteed Loan Program, and
  • Continuing to collaborate with our Federal Agency partners.

While prioritizing the safety of our customers and staff, USDA will continue to work closely with Self-Help Program grantees, as well as with our funding partners, real estate professionals, and other interested stakeholders.

If USDA is NOT Your Lender

Please contact your mortgage servicer, whose number should be on the bottom of your mortgage statement, to request a forbearance. Additional information is available on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s website www.cfpb.gov and in the CARES ACT Resource Guide.
