USDA Rural Development will provide $1.2 million to the City of Terrytown to be leveraged with $377,000 from the City, $1.3 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program, and a $250,000 Community Development Block Grant for water improvements for the City.
”The City of Terrytown is very grateful to the USDA for helping to fund our water project. This project has been needed for several years and it will be wonderful to see it completed,” said Mayor Kent Greenwalt, City of Terrytown.
“USDA funding will help to meet the water needs of Terrytown residents,” said Community Programs Specialist Natalie Furrow, USDA Rural Development. “I commend the City of Gering for assisting Terrytown with their water needs. Communities working together helps to keep the water usage costs low.”
Funds will be utilized to connect Terrytown to the City of Gering’s water supply, repaint Terrytown’s water tower, install water meters, and replace water mains.
The USDA Rural Development loan of $689,000 will be repaid over 40 years at 1.75 percent rate of interest.
