Carolyn Bloodgood Recognized for 10 Years of Federal Service

“The agency has done so much to assist rural communities and increase economic opportunity in the state,” said Carolyn Bloodgood, USDA Rural Development Technician.  “I feel humbled to be working for such a great agency.”

Bloodgood was recently recognized by Bruce Jones, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development South Dakota Acting State Director, for 10 years of dedicated service to the federal government.  The award was presented by her Supervisors, Doug Roehl and Dana Kleinsasser.  Bloodgood began her federal career in 2005 and has been with USDA Rural Development the entire time.  Previous work experience includes working in the banking industry in the real estate and trust departments.

“Carolyn works hard to improve and expedite the services she provides to staff and external customers,” said Jones.  “She works hard in her capacity as a technician and is a real asset to the agency.”

Bloodgood works out of the Huron State Office and her primary duties include working in the program areas of community facility, water and waste, and rural business.  During her tenure she has noticed an increase in the Agency’s impact on assisting communities in rural South Dakota.

Bloodgood, resides in Huron with her husband Bill.  They have two grown children and three grandchildren.  In her free time, she loves baking, sewing, gardening, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.  She is also an active member of the VFW.
