Carolyn Vakoc today was announced as the 2016 Nebraska Manager of the Year for Elderly Housing by the Multi-Family Housing Program at USDA Rural Development.  Carolyn is the Manager of Isabelle Village Apartments in Norfolk, Nebraska.

USDA Rural Development Multi-Family Housing Specialist Kimberly Fehringer presented Carolyn with a plaque at the apartments and offered her personal congratulations for receiving the award.  Helping to honor Carolyn at the presentation were Vakoc company staff, family, tenants and others.

“Carolyn does a wonderful job at Isabelle Apartments in providing great housing to the elderly tenants,” said Fehringer. “She continually has reports submitted on a timely basis and is very responsive when information is needed. She is always more than willing to help in any way she can, such as participating in the collaboration that produced the Multi-Family Housing marketing video for USDA Rural Development.”

“Carolyn provides a very welcoming demeanor which carries over to the tenants,” added Fehringer. “If you walk the grounds of the property with her, she can tell you the residents’ names and most residents will step out to say "hi".  Because of the relationship she has built with the tenants, they feel comfortable in sharing any concerns they may have about the apartments with her during monthly visits.”

Recently, Isabelle Village Apartment has undergone turnover in tenants, but due to Carolyn’s dedicated management, the project has rebounded every time with unit(s) usually filled within 30 days.
