Athens, Ga., Nov. 6, 2024 – Today U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development State Director Reggie Taylor deployed staff to assist at FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers.
“We’re ramping up operations to staff all of the active DRCs for Georgia counties until January 4, 2025,” said Rural Development State Director Reggie Taylor. “Rural Development can provide timely assistance for disaster recovery including obtaining home repairs, and repairing damage to businesses, essential infrastructure and community facilities. Our staff can also assist making connections to resources of other USDA agencies such as the Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Services.” Taylor said.
We encourage reviewing the Rural Development Disaster Assistance program resources, at https://www.rd.usda.gov/ and those affected by the hurricane who cannot consult at the DRCs with our staff are invited to complete an online contact form.
