Funding to Help Purchase Equipment to Assist with Healthcare Services

The Trump Administration announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $50,000 to support healthcare services, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, Colorado.

“Our elderly population is a vital part of our rural communities.  They deserve a safe and high quality place to receive long term health care in their community while still being able to visit with families and friends,” said Sallie Clark, USDA Rural Development Colorado State Director.  The USDA Rural Development Community Facilities program provides funding for equipment and helps to ensure access to quality health care facilities such as Eben Ezer.  The funding provided today will be used to purchase uplift equipment for 28 nursing rooms and the physical therapy room at the center.  “This updated equipment will provide for greater safety and security for both employees and residents.  It will also enable the bariatric patients to be better served at the facility,” said Clark.

Previously, Rural Development provided a $29.5 million direct loan and $5.2 million guaranteed loan to update the care center’s campus.  “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural Colorado in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives,” said Clark.
