Release Date

USDA Rural Development and the North Dakota Alliance for Renewable Energy are hosting an energy efficiency conference called Green Economics in West Fargo. The public is welcome to attend the day-long event on March 17th.

“Green Economics will focus on ways to effectively save money by saving energy. New energy technologies are enabling energy savings for homes and businesses that we haven’t seen before. We’re going to learn about the new opportunities together,” said Ryan Taylor, USDA Rural Development state director. “The event also happens to be on St. Patrick’s Day, which seems like a good day to learn about being green.”

Green Economics will convene several energy efficiency and community leaders who see opportunity and bottom line benefits to “smart use” and conservation. Homeowners, business owners and consumers will find value in participating as conference topics will explore new possibilities, technology and energy sources.

The event will be held at the Cambria Hotel West Fargo Conference Center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $50 per person, which includes lunch. To view the agenda and register, please visit http://ow.ly/XXvYr.

The Green Economics conference is being developed in cooperation with sponsors who include: USDA Rural Development, North Dakota Alliance for Renewable Energy, JLG Architects, North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, Basin Power Cooperative, Expansion Energy, LLC, National Information Solutions Cooperative and North Dakota Farmers Union.
