USDA Rural Development announces that the Lancaster County SID # 6 is the recipient of a Special Evaluation Assistance for Rural Communities and Households (SEARCH) grant of $23,700. The funds will be utilized to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report to assist the Lancaster County SID #6 in making an informed decision about its future wastewater system.
“The SID 6 is grateful for the grant received to evaluate our wastewater system. This evaluation would not be possible without USDA. We are excited to get the process started. Thank You.” said Chairperson Angela Hertzel, Lancaster County SID # 6.
“This planning approach will clearly describe the current situation, look at various alternatives for future wastewater infrastructure needs, and develop the economic and environmental impact that upgrades will have on the wastewater system,” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist Janice Stopak.
The SEARCH program helps very small, financially distressed rural communities with predevelopment feasibility studies, design assistance, and technical assistance on proposed water and waste disposal projects.
