USDA Rural Development State Director Maxine Moul today presented a plaque to Tami Bailey for her excellence in performance as Project Manager for South Sioux City, Nebraska and the South Sioux City Community Foundation, Inc.

“I am honored to recognize the project manager who serves South Sioux City in meeting the needs of its community.  USDA Rural Development is pleased to be a part of the new fire station as having emergency services is critical for rural areas and the need to reduce response time is essential for the residents of South Sioux City and the surrounding rural areas.  Thank you Tami for your dedicated service,” said Moul.

Rural Development awarded in February of 2016 a near $2.6 million loan to the South Sioux City Community Foundation, Inc. to construct a new fire station in South Sioux City. The 12,225 square foot fire station will serve 13,350 rural residents and will encompass four standard drive through bays, wash bays, office space and sleeping areas.

“The Lincoln Nebraska USDA staff nominated Tami for the award because she worked with both the South Sioux City and the Foundation to make sure that its dream of a new fire station would come to light.  She continuously made sure that all requested documentation was submitted for the project,” said Community Programs Specialists Janice Stopak and Luann Brown.  “USDA, the City and the Foundation have a lot of confidence in Tami’s abilities and we trust that the documents for the project will be submitted without issue.  We look forward to working with Tami for the years to come.”
