Release Date

USDA Rural Development announces the funding of $15,500 to the Village of Broadwater leveraged with $5,670 from the Village for a new emergency siren.  The Village is also the recipient of $1,200 from USDA that will be leveraged with $450 from the Village for a new Village computer system.

“The Village is excited and grateful to be receiving these needed grant funds to replace both the siren and the computer at the Village office.  The siren is very much needed to protect our community and the computer and equipment will make the clerk’s job much easier,” Board Chairperson, Michelle Hoerler, Village of Broadwater.

“The Village of Broadwater’s siren and village computer have both outlived their useful life.  The siren is about 70 years old and the computer is about 15 years old.  It is time for an upgrade for both of these essential tools for the community,” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist, Natalie Furrow.

The project was funded through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Grant program.  Visit:  http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/community-facilities-direct-loan-grant-program/ne
