USDA Rural Development announces the funding of more than $1.6 million to the Crawford Rural Fire Protection District for the construction of a new fire hall.
“We really appreciate the support of the USDA in approving our loan application for the construction of a much needed new fire hall. We will now be able to move forward on this project that will enable us to better protect our equipment, our volunteer firemen, and more efficiently serve our community. Thank you!” said Ron Dyer, Crawford Rural Fire Protection District
“USDA funds will construct a new fire hall for Crawford and the surrounding area.” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist, Natalie Furrow. “The current fire hall is structurally diminished and they need to have a space that is large enough, safe, and energy efficient to help with operating costs.”
The USDA loan is for 40 years at 2.875 percent rate of interest.
The project was funded through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Direct Loan program. Visit: http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/community-facilities-direct-loan-grant-program/ne.
