USDA Rural Development State Director Howard Henderson announces Paulsboro Borough will receive $400,000 through the Community Facilities program to begin an expansion project on the Gill House/Memorial Library.  When completed, the library will have online computer access stations, additional book stacks and a separate adult and children’s library. The Borough will also expand the existing parking area to accommodate the facility.

Originally, the funds were going to be used to renovate the historic Paul House which sits across the street from the Gill House/Memorial Library.  However, a significant archeological find on the Paul House site,  made it impossible to continue at this location.  With the help of USDA and local government, the library’s board of trustees created a new plan and vision at the Gill House/Memorial Library.

“This project will provide the rural residence of Paulsboro with a state-of-the-art expanded library,” said Henderson.
