San Carlos, Ariz. (July 12, 2024) – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director for Arizona Charlene Fernandez today announced the postponement of the Housing Application Days originally planned for July 16, 17, and 18 at the San Carlos Apache Tribes' Bylas, Peridot, Gilson Wash, and Seven Mile Districts amidst the tribe's state of emergency declaration.
"We are deeply saddened by the fire disaster impacting the San Carlos Apache Tribe and extend are heartfelt condolences to those experiencing evacuation and the loss of their homes," says State Director Fernandez. "Our agency is committed to furthering our support of this Rural Partner Network community and urge individuals to bring needed resources to the San Carlos Apache Tribe."
Rural Development anticipates rescheduling the Housing Application Days for a later date.
