Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett today announced the appointment of Joby Young as Chief of Staff of USDA Rural Development.
Young comes to Rural Development with 10 years of experience serving agricultural and rural communities. Since June 2017, Young has served as Chief of Staff at the USDA Office of Congressional Relations.
Prior to joining to USDA, Young served as Chief of Staff for Congressman Austin Scott of Georgia, a member of the House Agriculture Committee. Before this, Young served on the staff of Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle.
Young is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned degrees in History and Speech Communication. He is also a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. Young lives in Alexandria, Va., with his wife, Stewart.
Young will officially transition to Rural Development from the Office of Congressional Affairs on July 16. USDA Rural Development encourages partners and stakeholder groups to reach out to Young in his new role to build on existing partnerships and create new relationships.
