Southeast Colorado Hospital District Receives Funding
USDA Colorado State Director Sallie Clark announced that USDA Rural Development is investing a $50,000 Community Facilities grant to purchase a custom-built ambulance with some additional equipment for the Southeast Colorado Hospital District (SECHD).
Clark was joined by Susan Beckman, Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Region VIII to award the grant. “Often the hospital district has to respond to simultaneous events or multi-unit events and are unable to respond to calls without this second unit,” said Clark. The district has been able to increase their personnel levels to staff the additional vehicle. “This new vehicle will also include radios that will help with coordination with the hospital and allow for better patient service and response time,” said Clark.
“Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA is committed to being a strong partner to rural communities and their leaders because when rural America thrives, all of America thrives. The investment today underscores that President Trump feels the same way I do about rural Colorado and health care,” said Clark.
