U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kentucky State Director Travis T. Burton announced a $999,901 distance learning and telemedicine grant in Gallatin County today.
“Rural Kentucky’s future is shaped by the students we invest in today,” said Burton. “With this grant, Gallatin County students will be better equipped to pursue higher education and meaningful career pathways. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and USDA Secretary Rollins, this investment will continue benefitting the county for years to come.”
Gallatin County Schools will use a $999,901 Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant to equip four hub/end-user sites throughout the county with advanced distance learning technology. Instructors will deliver advanced coursework, professional development for educators and career and technical training.
Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Rollins, USDA Rural Development has awarded over $6.8 million in Kentucky through the Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program. This program helps rural communities leverage technology to overcome distance and low population density to access health care and educational opportunities.
