U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz today announced that the Trump Administration is delivering $465,000 in emergency grant assistance to the city of Hominy due to a failed water transmission line.
The city had experienced a major flooding event last summer at their spillway, which resulted in a piece of concrete breaking off at the spillway damaging a major water transmission line. The damage to the water line resulted in an immediate loss of water delivery to its citizens. Utilizing funding from USDA’s Emergency Community Water Assistance Grant program, Rural Development was able to work with the city staff to provide the essential funding needed to replace this transmission line.
“It is a tremendous honor to help the city of Hominy in their time of need for such an important resource to their community and surrounding agricultural economy,” said Swartz. “President Donald Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins are delivering wins every day to rural America, to not only grow our rural economy, but get it back on track if a disaster like this takes place.”
