Investment to Help Purchase a State-of-the-Art Ladder Truck for Maryville
The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $1.3 million to assist with the purchase of a brand-new aerial ladder truck for the Maryville Fire Department.
“Dependable emergency response vehicles are necessary for the vitality of our rural communities,” said USDA Rural Development Missouri State Director Jeff Case. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural Missouri in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives.”
The Maryville, MO Betterment Corporation will use a $640,000 loan and a $660,000 grant through USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program to purchase the truck for the City of Maryville, replacing an older model that is a safety concern.
“Through the USDA, we will be able to purchase a new aerial ladder truck to improve safety and emergency response throughout the region,” said Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel. “The new unit will replace a 1981 Sutphen which is unreliable and jeopardizes fire fighter safety. Aerial apparatus are versatile pieces of equipment and critical for a variety of fire service responses. The City of Maryville truly appreciates the partnership with USDA to enhance the performance of Maryville Public Safety.”
