The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing in a $4 million Community Facilities Direct Loan to develop essential community facilities in North Central West Virginia.
The loan will be provided to Valley Healthcare System to assist with the construction of a new residential treatment facility located in Pleasant Valley. The facility will provide a total of 80 coed beds between two gender specific buildings. Any unused direct treatment beds will be utilized for sober living.
“Assisting local communities through the Community Facilities Direct Loans and Grants program is just one of the many ways USDA is able to make a positive impact in our state,” said Kris Warner, West Virginia State Director, USDA Rural Development. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly here in the Mountain State to be a strong partner to rural West Virginia businesses, which helps build stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural West Virginia thrives, all of America thrives.”
This project is one of 17 different Community Facilities projects across the state. It is the largest Community Facilities award in West Virginia this year, bringing the combined total to more than $6.5 million statewide.
Rural Development’s community facilities direct loans and grants can be used to purchase, construct, and/or improve essential community facilities; purchase equipment; and pay related project expenses.
