Investment to Help 1,522 Purchase Updated Fire Fighting Equipment
SNOW HILL, N.C. October 9, 2020 – The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $675 thousand to purchase new fire trucks in rural North Carolina.
“As rural communities grow they need updated equipment to keep their homes and properties safe,” said USDA Rural Development State Director Robert Hosford. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural North Carolina in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives.”
In rural North Carolina, Snow Hill will use $675 thousand in loans and grants to purchase a new pumper truck and equipment to outfit the truck.
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
