Trump Administration Invests $749,500 in Value-Added Producer Grants in Rural Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 22, 2020 - The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $749,500 to help agriculture producers enter into value-added activities related to processing and marketing of new products in rural Tennessee.

"We are excited to partner with agriculture producers across the state to provide them with funding for capital that will also lead to the creation of jobs for rural residents," said Jim Tracy. "Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural Tennessee in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives."

In rural Tennessee:

  • Tennessee Farm Winegrowers Alliance, Inc. will use a $249,500 grant for working capital. The project is to assist the association with marketing and increasing tourism for the member wineries in the State of Tennessee.
  • Nash Family Creamery LLC will use a $250,000 grant for working capital. The projects are to launch a new dairy processing operation and grow the volume of dairy products sold in Bedford County.
  • Full Throttle Sloon Shine LLC will use a $250,000 grant for working capital. The company is expanding the sales of distilled whiskey with a new flavored product in Dyer and Obion County.

USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
