The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $92,600 to assist a local St. Albans woman become a first-time home buyer.

This Rural Development investment is being awarded through the Section 502 Direct Loan Program, which assists low- and very-low-income applicants obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability. This investment is part of two in Kanawha County for a total of more than $208,000. Throughout the entire state of West Virginia there were 72 awards through the 502 program in Fiscal Year 2020, with a combined total of more than $9.6 million.
