Investment to Improve Infrastructure for more than 8,600 Rural Missourians
COLUMBIA, MO, Sept. 22, 2020 – The Trump Administration, along with Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director for Missouri Jeff Case, today announced that the USDA is investing over $1,365,000 to Consolidated Public Water Supply District #1 of Clark County, Missouri. The district will make improvements to its water system, benefitting 8,612 users.

This investment will have a much-needed positive impact on the Clark County’s rural economy,” said Trump Administration Official State Director Case. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural Missouri in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives.”
USDA is providing Consolidated Public Water Supply District #1 of Clark County, Missouri a $1,365,000 loan through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. The district is working to repair or replace inefficiencies in its system and to improve outdated equipment to better serve its customers. Planned improvements include replacing 20,800 feet of water distribution lines, replacing one booster pump station, rehabilitating one booster pump station, installing a 75,000-gallon elevated storage tank, and purchasing three mobile generators. These improvements will help the district provide clean, safe drinking water to is users.
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
