PHOENIX, Oct. 27, 2020 – The Trump administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Arizona State Director Jack Smith announced a $49,500 Value-Added Producer Grant has been awarded to Da Vines Vineyard LLC for activities related to the processing and marketing of products.
“Rural Development has been given the ability to utilize many loan and grant programs to help our rural areas and agricultural producers,” said Smith. “The Value-Added Producer Grant program is an important part of our mission, because it helps producers increase the value of their agricultural products. Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA continues to be a strong partner with rural communities, because we know that when rural America thrives, all of America thrives.”
Da Vines Vineyard LLC, a small family owned farm in Cornville, Arizona, will use the grant to help with the expenses of processing, bottling, labeling and marketing their line of "boutique" wines enabling the business to expand its customer base, sales and profit.
The Value-Added Producer Grant program helps agricultural producers enter into value-added activities related to the processing and marketing of new products. The goals of this program are to generate new products, create and expand marketing opportunities and increase producer income.
