USDA Accepting Applications for Disaster Assistance for Water and Wastewater Systems Damaged by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria

WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2018 – Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett today announced that USDA is seeking applications for grants to repair water and wastewater systems damaged by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Applications for $163,475,000 in supplemental grants will be accepted until all funds are exhausted.

To be eligible for funding, water and wastewater facilities must serve a rural area. Funds must be used for repairs or reimbursement for expenses incurred as a result of damage caused by the hurricanes. USDA encourages applications that will support recommendations made in the report to the President from the Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity to help improve life in rural America.
