The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is accepting applications for its Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) Grant Program, which provides increased access to education, training, and healthcare resources in rural areas.
The Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program finances telecommunications equipment, computer networks, and advanced technologies for use by students, teachers, medical professionals, and rural residents. Grant amounts range from $50,000 to $500,000. Of the funds made available this year, $1.6 million will be prioritized for communication upgrades between emergency transportation vehicles and medical facilities.
Applications are due by Monday, July 17, 2017. Prior to applying, applicants are encouraged to review the 2017 Application Guide.
