USDA Rural Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will host a one-day housing training on June 3, 2014 in Fargo. The objective is to provide information on federal housing programs and share resources between federal, state and local partners.
Charley Johnson, CEO of the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, will kick-off the training by welcoming participants. He will be joined by featured speakers Jasper Schneider, state director of USDA Rural Development, and Joel Manske, state director of HUD. There will also be a federal legislative panel as well as a presentation by the ND Housing Finance Agency.
“The goal is to educate the public about federal programs as well as foster partnerships that can help address housing challenges in the state,” said Schneider.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in different sessions throughout the day. Single family and multi-family housing will be areas of focus, along with public housing, fair housing, community development and other special initiatives.
“With North Dakota’s rapidly changing housing environment and the complexity of solutions, this training avails the federal agencies and industry partners the opportunity to develop creative interdisciplinary solutions to our region’s challenges,” said Manske.
The Federal Housing Training will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014 at the Ramada Plaza Suites in Fargo. It is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, please visit http://tinyurl.com/federalhousing.
