U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development State Director for Michigan Brandon Fewins today announced a $4,180,875 grant to increase the availability of domestic biofuels in Michigan.
“This is a massive investment in biofuels with long-reaching positive benefits for Michigan,” said Fewins. “Though centered in rural Michigan, everyone on the road will benefit from access to clean, renewable fuels.”
The funding was made possible through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program and the Biobased Market Access and Development Program.
Fleet Fueling of Michigan LLC, in Kent County, will install 16 E15 dispensers, 16 E85 dispensers, 30 B20 dispensers, seven ethanol storage tanks, and 14 biodiesel storage tanks at seven fueling stations. The primary locations are in Eaton, Ingham, and Clinton counties. This is projected to increase the amount of biofuel sold by 2,535,139 gallons per year.
