USDA Announces Rural Housing Service Administrator

(Washington, D.C., April 19, 2018) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the selection of Joel Baxley as Rural Housing Service Administrator. Baxley has built a long career in housing finance and real estate issues.

 

Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett issued the following statement:

 

“Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, USDA is committed to restoring prosperity in rural America, which means addressing the significant challenge of access to quality and affordable housing. Adding Joel Baxley to the team will help us be a better partner to rural communities building their futures. Joel is an expert in financial management, has deep knowledge of Rural Development’s housing programs and portfolio, and possesses an eye for innovation, which is essential to driving change and creating opportunities in our rural communities.”

 

Joel Baxley’s Biography:

 

Joel Baxley comes to USDA with 23 years of real estate finance experience, including 13 years providing valuations of complex property types. He most recently served as the Consulting Services Director and the senior real estate technical consultant with RSM US LLP’s Financial Advisory Services consulting practice. Joel holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Alabama and a post-graduate degree from the University of Oxford.
