USDA Assists Chester with Ambulance Barn and Electric Sign for Auditorium

Name
Vicki Schurman
City
Chester
Release Date

The village of Chester will receive $116,000 from USDA Rural Development for a new ambulance barn and $2,200 for the Village auditorium’s electric sign.  The sign was leveraged with $12,525 from outside contributions.

“I would like to thank all the people involved in making these projects possible, it was a long process which was made easier by the people at the USDA, and the other government groups that were involved,” said Joe Carbonneau, Village of Chester.

“The ambulance barn will feature one overhead door, with future construction to make another overhead door possible as needed.  The large overhead door will make easy access to park the ambulances and space to store equipment,” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist, Luann Brown. “The barn will strengthen the response to emergency situations with the easy access in and out of the barn.”

“An electric sign will be installed outside the Village of Chester’s auditorium to announce upcoming events.  With the sign the residents of Chester and its passersby will always be invited to upcoming events,” said USDA Rural Development Community Programs Specialist, Mary Sneckenberg. “Chester is a very supportive community and the leveraged funds for this project speaks well to that.”

These projects were funded through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Loan and Grant Program.  Visit:  http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/community-facilities-direct-loan-grant-program/ne.
