The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development today commemorated the ribbon-cutting and open house of the Autism Center in Belding.
“USDA Rural Development is proud to support this investment in improved health care and treatment,” said Acting State Director Jason Church.
The renovated and expanded facility includes six new treatment rooms and additional administrative office space. USDA Rural Development provided a $1,725,000 loan to the Ionia County Community Mental Health Authority to support the project, which serves more than 2,000 rural residents.
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; homeownership; community services such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
