Don’t delay, funds available now to provide safe drinking water.  USDA Rural Development is soliciting loan and grant applications for the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.  This program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal and storm water drainage to households and businesses in rural areas with populations of 10,000 or less.  In some cases, funding may also be available for related activities such as legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, water and land rights, permits and equipment and other activities necessary to complete projects.

Applications may be submitted via RDApply by most state and local governmental entities, private non-profits, and federally-recognized tribes.  RDApply is an online application that allows customers to create an application, upload attachments, sign certifications and draw service areas.  For customer convenience, this system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

President Obama’s plan for rural America has brought about historic investment and resulted in stronger rural communities.  Under the President’s leadership, these investments in housing, community facilities, businesses and infrastructure have empowered rural America to continue leading the way-strengthening America’s economy, small towns and rural communities.
