U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Business Cooperative Service Administrator Betsy Dirksen Londrigan today visited Adelaide Pointe Marina and two other businesses to highlight USDA’s investments in the area.
“USDA invests in rural America because we know a strong community is rooted in its people,” Dirksen Londrigan said. “Under the leadership of the Biden-Harris Administration, we are proud to partner with businesses here in Michigan to create a more affordable and sustainable future that will benefit rural families and businesses for generations to come."
USDA Rural Development provided more than $24 million in Business Program Loans to support the project, which features 169 boat slips and is the first new Michigan marina in 30 years.
Dirksen Londrigan also visited Aldea Coffee and Trinity Equipment, two small business that received Rural Energy for America Program grants to install solar PV systems.
USDA touches the lives of all Americans each day in so many positive ways. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, USDA is transforming America’s food system with a greater focus on more resilient local and regional food production, fairer markets for all producers, ensuring access to safe, healthy and nutritious food in all communities, building new markets and streams of income for farmers and producers using climate-smart food and forestry practices, making historic investments in infrastructure and clean energy capabilities in rural America, and committing to equity across the Department by removing systemic barriers and building a workforce more representative of America.
