U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Acting State Director for Michigan Valarie Handy today announced $599,338 in grants to Upper Peninsula agriculture producers and rural businesses to make investments in renewable energy.
“This batch of grants highlights both the geographic diversity and different types of projects we can support,” said Handy. “While the majority are solar, we can also help with energy efficiency.”
The projects are funded through the Rural Energy for America Program. The U.P. projects are:
