USDA Invests more than $10 Million in Climate-Smart and Resilient Infrastructure for People in Rural Communities in California

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the Department is investing more than $10 million to reduce the impacts of climate change on rural communities. As part of the Build Back Better agenda, the Biden-Harris Administration has made investing in rural communities, creating good-paying jobs and combating the climate crisis top priorities.

“Rural America is on the front lines of climate change, and our communities deserve investments that will strengthen all of our resilience,” Vilsack said. “President Biden has created a roadmap for how we can tackle the climate crisis and expand access to renewable energy infrastructure, all while creating good-paying jobs and saving people money on their energy costs. With the Build Back Better agenda, USDA will be able to fund more and more critical projects like those announced today in the coming months and years.”

For the High Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program:

  • $139,000 will be invested to Safapour Iraj.

For the Rural Energy for America Program:

  • $3.2 million will go to OWC Energy Holdings, LLC
  • $6,350,000 will go to Canal Energy S23, LLC
  • $57,987  will go to Ed Dutro Corporation
  • $2,425,000 will go to Five H Dairy Biogas LLC
  • $250 thousand will go to Hoogendam Dairy Biogas LLC
  • $250 thousand will go to Meirinho Dairy Biogas, LLC
  • $250 thousand will go to Red Rock Dairy Biogas, LLC
  • $131,599 will go to Parreira Almond Processing Company
  • $250 thousand will go  to Rockshar Dairy Biogas, LLC
  • $250 thousand will go to Vista Verde Dairy Biogas LLC
  • $250 thousand will go to DJ South Dairy Biogas, LLC
  • $31,587 will go to Cortina Farms, Inc.
  • $193,401 will go to Trinut Farm Management, Inc.
  • $4.3 million will go to California Solar Holdco, LLC
