U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue today announced that USDA provided more than $1 billion in Fiscal Year 2017 to help improve access to health care services in rural communities. USDA Invests More than $1 Billion to Improve Health Care in Rural Areas.Here in Nevada, USDA provided a $2.9 million low-interest loan for renovations at Pershing General Hospital in Lovelock. The hospital will use the low-interest loan to upgrade its heating and air systems, install a new fire suppression system and repave its parking lot and heli-pad.
USDA Rural Development Nevada invites municipalities to contact us to find out about funding for essential community facilities such as emergency clinics, health care centers, and hospitals, and substance abuse and mental health treatment facilities. Public facilities like museums and libraries are eligible as well.
