USDA-RD Participates in Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Lincoln Charter School

LINCOLNTON, N.C., December 14, 2021 –Various federal and state officials joined U.S. Department of Agriculture North Carolina Rural Development at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Lincoln Charter School today.
USDA is investing $16 million to refinance existing debt as well as renovate The Lincoln Charter School campus at the Foundation for Education, Inc.
This investment will provide facility expansion for students in the elementary, middle and high school grades. 
Additional improvements are being made to the existing gymnasium and increased capacity for car and bus traffic. 
“Lincolnton is a growing rural community,” said USDA Rural Development State Director Reginald Speight. “This investment into the local education system will help facilitate this growth by providing a safe facility that meets today’s educational standards.”

This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety, and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural, Tribal and high-poverty areas.
