ALBEMARLE, N.C., October 1, 2021 –Various federal and state officials joined U.S. Department of Agriculture North Carolina Rural Development at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Morrow Valley Farmstead today.
USDA is investing $2.6 million in loans and grants to construct a long-term support care facility for GHA Autism Supports.
“We are excited to help provide a safe place where people can come together,” said Rural Development Acting State Director Mell Ellis. “This beautiful piece of North Carolina will help facilitate the needs of those who come here for years to come.”
This 10-bed healthcare facility will be located on a 50-acre farm.
The building will include:
- Administration offices
- Medical exam rooms
- Kitchen
- Laundry room
- Community area
- Bathrooms
- Stand by generators
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
