USDA Rural Development is well represented at the 2016 PA Farm Show. The week-long event is expected to entertain around 550,000 people from all over the country, which promises good exposure for all of Rural Development’s programs. The booth is located in the Weis Expo Hall, and every day a new set of helpful RD staff members are there to answer your questions whether they are about Community Facilities, Single and Multi-Family Housing, Business and Industry, or Rural Utilities. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Beginning in 1917 as PA’s state fair, Pennsylvania is proud to host the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the nation, with nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits. It is the largest indoor agricultural event held in the United States.
At USDA Rural Development, we are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. Through our programs, we help rural Americans in many ways.
We offer loans, grants and loan guarantees to support essential services such as housing, economic development, health care, first responder services and equipment, and water, electric and communications infrastructure.
