USDA Rural Development annually partners with Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) to provide technical assistance for rural and tribal communities.  Funding provided by Rural Development is used by CTAA to administer a rural and tribal passenger transportation technical assistance program.

Technical assistance from CTAA is available to interested rural and tribal communities.  Applications for long term technical assistance are due to CTAA by January 31, 2017. Program and application information can be found at:  http://web1.ctaa.org/webmodules/webarticles/anmviewer.asp?a=49&z=5

CTAA provides practical, hands-on technical assistance and training to enhance, expand, or establish public transit services.  CTAA has launched 127 major rural projects and 46 major tribal projects in 49 states and territories.  CTAA has also undertaken more than 200 short-term projects to address smaller-scale transportation issues and challenges across rural America.  Transportation projects create and sustain jobs, and enable rural and tribal residents’ access to educational opportunities, critical health care, as well as social services and other destinations.
